Abarth 695 and 695 SS
In March 1964, the little Abarth underwent another metamorphosis, resulting in the 695 and the 695 SS. These models had more power and performance, thanks to a displacement increased to 689.5 cc with the same bore and stroke (both 76 mm).
The 695 produces 30 HP, while the 695 SS delivers an impressive 38 HP, allowing the SS model to reach a top speed of 140 km/h. For the 695, the Solex 28 PBJ or IMB2 carburettor was kept, while the SS was equipped with a Solex 34 PBCI carburettor, the same as for the 595 SS, whose installation requires a special manifold.

The oil pan has a larger volume, and a large Abarth lettering is stamped into the cast aluminium. Along with the two menacing-looking exhaust pipes on the right-hand side, this contributes decisively to the sporty image of this Abarth model. Without going into too much detail about the different versions, it is worthwhile to mention that Abarth allowed a choice of axle ratios from 1964 onwards (instead of the standard 8/41 ratio, axle ratios of 8/39, 9/41 or 9/39 were optionally available).

Abarth 695 and 695 SS
The engine of the Fiat Abarth 695 produces 38 HP at 5200 RPM.
The price of the 695 basic version was 695,000 lira. Options were a steering wheel with a wooden rim (19,000 lira), front disc brakes (50,000 lira) and a roof made of plastic laminate (75,000 lira if supplied instead of the soft top, 145,000 lira if supplied separately).
